Working with this resource in the class or home

All pages contain information and related questions which can be used for class or home work. Each page focuses on a specific subject area, with opportunities for expanding and deepening areas of study, as appropriate to the ability level of the pupil.

Areas of activity

Questions are based on the text given, and all answers can be found, or are implied, in the text.

Questions offer the opportunity for pupils to undertake their own research on a topic related to the one being studied. Pupils should be encouraged to use the resources available, particularly new technology, to present their answers in a clear and interesting way. For example, pupils could use images and information downloaded from the web to enhance their final work.

Questions offer pupils the chance to undertake practical work - art & design projects, etc. Ideas for discussion and group work are included.
